Part of the last semester of school meant doing 2 different 3 week long practicum placements. The first one found me back on Vancouver Island, about 30 minutes from where I grew up. I managed to live in the clinic, which was nice to avoid driving in the crazy snow the island
never has...
While there, I chose to take a drive down island along the long/scenic route to visit a friend I haven't seen in 8 or so years. The trip that should have taken max 90 minutes, took me upwards of 4 hours... but I loved every minute of it...

It was a quiet, chill day. I managed to dodge the rain until I got close to Nanaimo, had a great lunch and caught up with an old friend through a nice Nanaimo Harbour walk, and ice cream making. I miss the island sometimes...
